Mayor Mitch Roth today is hosting his fifth town hall meeting.
The event is called “Sustainable Horizons: Mayor Roth’s Community Impact Check-in” and is aimed at providing updates and fostering engagement with communities across Hawaii Island.
It will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. tonight at the Waimea Hawaiian Homes Hall located at 64-756 Mamalahoa Hwy.
“We are thrilled to host the fifth town hall of our series in the heart of paniolo country,” Roth said in a press release. “These events have been vital platforms for ensuring that the voices of our communities across Hawaii Island are heard loud and clear. Join us as we foster open dialogue, listen to your concerns, and actively shape the future of your community together.”
“The town hall series aims to establish an open and transparent dialogue where residents can stay informed about local initiatives, express their concerns, and actively contribute to shaping the future of their respective communities,” according to the press release.
The event will begin with Roth and key cabinet members providing updates on the county’s progress and direction during the first half-hour.
These updates will be tailored to provide site-specific information relevant to the Waimea community.
The remaining hour and a half will be dedicated to a Q&A session, enabling attendees to directly pose questions to department representatives and receive responses from subject matter experts.
For those unable to attend the in-person event, the town hall will be live-streamed on Roth’s Facebook page (facebook.com/himayormitch) and Na Leo TV, Channel 55.
